Geographies of Circularity. Spatial imaginaries and grounded practices across scales

📍13th International Conference of the Hellenic Geographical Society: Geography Matters, Athens, 27-28 November 2026.

This session brings together scholars working at the intersection of circular economy, geography, and the politics of sustainable transition. We welcome contributions that engage with circularity as both a theoretical framework and a situated practice, from regional and metropolitan scales down to neighbourhoods, buildings, and public spaces. A central thread running through the session is participation and co-design, exploring how communities shape circular transitions, how bottom-up initiatives interact with top-down governance, and how informal networks navigate the emergence of formal programmes.
