Life stagnates. It retreats to the niche, the natural, the typical. Leave a population isolated enough and if it's lucky and doesn’t go extinct, its genetic pool shrinks. Humanity managed to break that pattern, we travel, we imagine, plan and think in the abstract. Possible worlds rather than a singular one occupy our minds. We think in 3 even 4 dimensions with the assistance of technology. We not only adapt but diverge, not just in our genes but values, mental characteristics, ideologies and identity. Humans intentionally disrupt our own status quo by merely imagining beyond it. Rebels and Transgressives who appear across all our history for good or ill to prevent the onslaught of entropy. Step into the shoes of an alter ego from a parallel world who can influence others with his mind and must navigate a jungle of predators and survivors in a city of echoes and dreams through the labyrinth of paranoia and conspiracy within the cosmic forces and planes that rule our lives.
