In CBX and Boldor, those who want to upgrade the stock carburetors by removing the factory airbox and installing air filters, there is a small disadvantage but quite big for me. The carburetor inlet has a very large step due to its construction. I design air filters that will have an internal funnel that will come in perfect harmony with the central chamber of the carburetor without blocking the breaths at this specific point. In the American championship in 80s, they cut this specific point in the stock carburetor to have the corresponding improvement.
