Choosing a ship's flag is far more than an administrative decision. It can directly influence Port State Control (PSC) inspections, detention risk, chartering opportunities, insurance perception, and even the commercial reputation of a vessel.

According to the Paris MoU White, Grey and Black List, flag States are evaluated based on the detention performance of ships flying their flags during PSC inspections.

✅ **White List** – High-performing flag States with the lowest detention rates and the strongest compliance records.

⚠️ **Grey List** – Flags with average performance that require closer attention to compliance and maintenance.

❌ **Black List** – Flags with consistently poor inspection performance and significantly higher detention risks.
