MOON SIGHTING ANNOUNCEMENT – COMMENCEMENT OF MUHARRAM 1448 AH
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
Dear brothers and sisters,
As we approach the end of the month of Dhul Hijjah, we kindly remind the Muslim community to look for the new crescent moon marking the beginning of the blessed month of Muharram and the commencement of the Islamic New Year 1448 AH on Monday evening 15th June, 2026.
The sighting of the moon is an important Sunnah and a means by which the Islamic months are established. We encourage those who are able to observe the western horizon shortly after sunset and report any confirmed sighting through the appropriate channels.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a statement reported in Bukhari and Muslim.
"Fast when you see it and break your fast when you see it."
While this hadith specifically relates to Ramadan, it establishes the principle that the Islamic months begin with the sighting of the crescent moon.
We ask Allah to allow us to witness the new year in faith, safety, good health, and obedience to Him. May He forgive our shortcomings, accept our good deeds, and make the coming year better than the one that has passed.
O Allah, bring this crescent upon us with security, faith, safety, Islam, and success in that which You love and are pleased with.
May Allah bless you all.

Read Before You Criticize: A Call to Intellectual Honesty
Why do so many people speak about the Qur'an without ever having sincerely read it?
In this thought-provoking lecture, Dr. Abdul Wahid Yusuf explores the problem of selective reading, the danger of taking verses out of context, and the importance of approaching revelation with honesty and humility.
Using both the Bible's instruction, "Lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5), and the Qur'an's own description of itself as a confirmer and criterion over previous scriptures, this lecture challenges listeners to move beyond assumptions, soundbites, and social media arguments.
Whether you are Muslim, Christian, or simply a seeker of truth, this presentation invites you to ask a simple but powerful question:
Have you actually read the Qur'an before criticizing it?
A compelling call to study before judging, understand before attacking, and seek truth wherever the evidence leads.

The Day of ‘Arafah is not merely a day of emotion, gatherings, or outward rituals. It is a day that calls the believer back to the very foundation of his existence: Tawheed.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of ‘Arafah, and the best thing that I and the Prophets before me have said is:
‘Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.’
“There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion, to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things fully capable.”
If we reflect carefully upon this tremendous statement.
The Prophet ﷺ did not describe the “best supplication” as a list of worldly requests, emotional expressions, or philosophical reflections. Rather, he directed the Ummah to the pure proclamation of Tawheed the very message carried by every Prophet from Adam to Muhammad ﷺ.
This statement establishes:
That none deserves worship except Allah.
That all dominion belongs entirely to Allah.
That complete and perfect praise belongs to Allah alone.
That absolute power and control over every affair belongs only to Allah.
And within this is the destruction of shirk from its very roots.
It teaches the believer that the heart must not become attached to creation more than the Creator.
Not to graves.
Not to saints.
Not to idols.
Not to wealth.
Not to governments.
Not to personalities.
Not even to one’s own strength and ability.
Everything besides Allah is weak, dependent, and temporary.
The one who truly understands this statement understands that all needs, fears, hopes, hardships, and desires must ultimately be directed to Allah alone.
When you seek relief, seek it from Allah.
When you seek provision, seek it from Allah.
When you seek forgiveness, seek it from Allah.
When your heart breaks, turn to Allah.
When the world disappoints you, return to Allah.
For indeed:
None can bring goodness except Allah.
None can remove hardship except Allah.
None can rectify the condition of the hearts except Allah.
This is why Tawheed is not merely a theological concept discussed in books. It is life itself. It is dependence upon Allah alone. It is sincerity to Allah alone. It is worshipping Allah alone without partner.
And this was the call of every Prophet before Muhammad ﷺ.
So on the Day of ‘Arafah, increase in this tremendous remembrance with understanding, humility, sincerity, and certainty:
Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.
May Allah make us from the people of pure Tawheed and protect us from every form of shirk, open and hidden.

Hijab Beyond Clothing — Haya, Character, and Consciousness of Allah
In Episode 6 of The Hijab Series, we move beyond the outward appearance of hijab and into its deeper spiritual reality: haya.
What is modesty in Islam really meant to produce?
This episode explores the connection between hijab and character, modesty and faith, outward covering and inward sincerity, and how consciousness of Allah shapes the believer’s conduct, speech, and behavior.
We also address the modern culture of attention, exposure, and validation, and how Islam teaches dignity, restraint, and spiritual awareness in a world that constantly calls people toward display.
A powerful and deeply reflective discussion on the true spirit of modesty in Islam.

Alhamdulillah, Allah has once again blessed us with the arrival of the beautiful and sacred month of Dhul Hijjah one of the greatest seasons of worship for the believers.
These are not ordinary days. They are days loved by Allah.
There's a statement of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reported in Bukhari where he said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
Subhan Allah. Imagine that. The deeds done in these blessed days are more beloved to Allah than deeds done in any other days of the year.
These are the days of Salah and sincere repentance, Qur'an recitation and remembrance of Allah, Fasting and charity, Takbeer and Tahleel, Sacrifice and obedience, Mercy, forgiveness, and drawing closer to Allah
They are the days connected to Hajj, the legacy of Ibrahim alayhis salam, the sacrifice of Ismail alayhis salam, and the complete submission to the command of Allah.
Allah reminds us in Suratil Fajr, Qur'an chapter 89:1-2 when He said; “By the dawn, and by the ten nights.”
Many of the scholars from the Salaf explained these ten nights to refer to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah because of their immense virtue and greatness.
So do not let these days pass like ordinary days.
Put special efforts into increasing in Istighfar, Dhikr, Charity, Good character, Du'a, Helping others, Fasting, especially the Day of Arafah, Remembering Allah abundantly.
Perhaps this Dhul Hijjah may be the very season Allah chooses to change your life, forgive your sins, elevate your rank, and bring your heart closer to Him.
May Allah allow us to witness these blessed days with sincere faith, accept our worship, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us the ability to maximize every moment of Dhul Hijjah.
Ameen.
