🌿 World Wildlife Day in Oakridge 🌿
In celebration of World Wildlife Day (March 3rd), environmental education came to life with Bay Islands Conservation Association at the Dionisio de Herrera Basic Education Center in Oakridge, José Santos Guardiola.
A total of 143 students from 3rd–6th grade learned about the incredible ecosystems that surround them — including mangroves, seagrass beds, coral reefs, and the wildlife that depends on them, along with the important regulations that protect the Bay Islands Marine National Park and Port Royal National Park.
We’re proud that Support Roatan donated over 200 fruit trees, shared with students, teachers, and family members to help continue the message of sustainability, while a big thanks to Trees That Feed Foundation for providing students with tree-planting / environmental workbooks.
