“One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back.”

Ten were healed. One returned. Nine received. One responded. The difference was not in the miracle. It was in recognition.

Gratitude is the beginning of witness.

The one who returned did not offer a speech. He fell at Jesus’ feet. Before he ever spoke publicly, he responded personally. That is the order.

Witness that is not rooted in gratitude becomes mechanical. When you truly see what Christ has done for you, words form naturally. But many believers move on too quickly. We receive forgiveness. We receive provision. We receive guidance. And then we proceed.

The one who returned was seen. Jesus asked, “Where are the nine?” He notices gratitude.

There was a man I once knew who prayed three simple words every day: Burden. Opportunity. Boldness. He asked God to give him a burden for people who did not know Christ, an opportunity to speak, and boldness to obey when the moment came. But before any of that, he returned daily in gratitude.

Have you returned lately? Have you paused long enough to recognize the depth of what you have been given? The gospel is not a concept you accepted once. It is rescue you continue to live from.

Gratitude clears the eyes. Burden follows clarity. And when the heart returns, it does not stay silent for long.

Have you taken time recently to thank Christ specifically for your salvation?

Jesus, I return again. Give me gratitude that becomes burden, opportunity, and boldness.
