Our On-Set and Scanning Department has been supporting international productions in Hungary since the founding of Spectral Studios. We had a great time working on Until Dawn last year, where we scanned several locations in the unique Kőbánya cellar system in Budapest.
The trailer for this Sony Pictures Entertainment horror film is now out, and it hits cinemas—including here in the capital—on 24 April next week.

Rise of the Raven (Hunyadi) had its official Hungarian Gala Premiere last night at the Palace of Arts in Budapest. ✨🎬

It was an unforgettable evening celebrating this incredible achievement with our amazing cast, crew, and everyone who brought this epic story to life. A huge thank you to all who poured their passion and talent into this project.

Excited to announce the SPECTRAL SERVICES team’s involvement with the mini series ‘ERIC’ that premiered on the streaming service last week.

The SPECTRAL SERVICES team was commissioned with the task of scanning a scrap collecting ship while it was on water that is featured in the 4th episode. Moving subjects are almost impossible to scan, and flying above water with a drone has its own risk factor, so the team had to be very careful when scanning the ship.

This shoot took place at the harbour of the Csepel industrial area, in Budapest’s 23rd district where the team also scanned other parts of the industrial harbour of around 320.000m2 that stood in for New York’s Hudson river and port. One of the warehouses in the port was dressed up as a garbage disposal site that the team also scanned along with parts of the city’s M3 metro tunnel, which was dressed up as an alleyway.

A series taking place in New York can’t be complete without the most visited NY corner in Hungary, the New York backlot of Korda film studios in Etyek, which was also scanned by the team to help further enhance the scenes.

Set in 1980s New York, Eric is a new emotional thriller from Abi Morgan following the desperate search of a father when his nine year old son disappears one morning on the way to school starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
