Youtube is a different kind of animal when it comes to music listening. Quite far away from radio, getting closer to streaming services, but still not the same. The lineup of the most popular tracks may seem odd at first, but one shouldn't forget the context - the composition of the userbase and the function of music listening itself. These attributes keep changing shape constantly and quickly, so it is probably best not to draw far-reaching cultural conclusions. The numbers however are insteresting, and taking a closer look never hurts.
