🟡 MEET THE ACADEMY TEAM #3
This is the final post in our series introducing the artistic team behind the Academy for Actors of Social Change 2026, the professionals leading the two-week Summer Academy programme.
Now, meet Katalin Walter, the artistic FACILITATOR of the Academy.
Kata is a psychodynamic movement and dance therapist based in Hungary, with over eleven years of professional experience. She is also an analytically oriented theatre therapist and a guest lecturer in the training programe of the Magyar Mozgás- és Táncterápiás Egyesület - Hungarian Association for Movement and Dance Therapy (HAMDT). Alongside her therapeutic work, she serves as deputy delegate of HAMDT within the European Association Dance Movement Therapy - EADMT, supporting the visibility and professional recognition of dance movement therapy at both national and European levels.
Her work focuses primarily on long-term therapeutic processes with children and adults. Drawing on embodiment, dramatic play, and creative expression, she supports self-exploration, emotional awareness, and the development of a more authentic connection to oneself and others. She also works with disadvantaged communities and people from minority backgrounds. She has experience working in residential care with adolescents, with people in recovery from addiction, with Roma minority teenagers, and in psychiatric settings with adolescents living with eating disorders.
As a trainer, she integrates elements of visible imprint, movement and visual creation into her practice.

💚As always, the conversation was hosted by ecologist, philosopher, and writer Philipp P. Thapa, who was joined by two local experts: Cristina Veiga-Pires, Executive Director of the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, and Gonçalo Ferreira de Carvalho, Executive Coordinator at Sciaena, our partner in project and host of the conference.
💚The Green Academies are organised by Pro Progressione in collaboration with the Sustainable Europe Research Institute Germany and co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
Huge thanks to Sciaena and Interpret Europe for the recording!
