Meet the Reticulated Python (Malayopython reticulatus), known in Indonesia as Sanca Kembang. This incredible snake, belonging to the Pythonidae family, can grow anywhere from 300 cm to a whopping 900 cm in length!

These majestic creatures are often found near water bodies like rivers, ponds, and swamps, where they patiently wait or ambush their prey rather than actively hunting (they’re passive predators). To subdue their prey, they use their powerful coils to constrict and immobilize it.

Habitat: Forests, plantations, rice fields, mangroves, and rivers.
Activity: Nocturnal (active at night).
Reproduction: Oviparous (egg-laying).
Diet: Birds, mammals, and poultry.
Venom: Non-venomous.

Rescue of a Reticulated Python was carried out by Agus Putra
