Justin Barcia managed to win the opening series of the 2020 AMA Supercross at Anaheim 1 (A1) on January 4 2020. This victory was very iconic because he managed to achieve consecutive wins at the season opener (after also winning at A1 2019) and became his first victory on the Yamaha YZ450F motorbike for the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team.

Ron Lechien recorded a significant win at the 1984 Oakland Supercross which took place in October of that year. This win was a special achievement for Lechien, who was only 17 years old at the time, making it his first AMA Supercross win (having previously won a non-AMA race in San Diego in 1983).

Move to Honda: Lechien joined the giant Honda team in 1984 after leaving Yamaha due to his dissatisfaction with Yamaha's decision to use production engines.
