China has officially launched its first humanoid robot factory in Guangdong, marking a major leap in automation and robotics. Built through a collaboration between Leju Robotics and Dongfang Precision Science and Technology, the facility can produce up to 10,000 humanoid robots annually.

With 24 assembly stages and 77 inspection points, the factory can build one robot in just 30 minutes—50% faster than conventional methods. Each robot also undergoes 41 simulation tests to ensure readiness for real industrial operations, beyond simple demonstrations.

Meanwhile, the rapid growth of AI is raising environmental concerns. According to Forbes, the expansion of large-scale AI systems is accelerating the depletion of global drinking water supplies. This is largely due to the massive use of clean water required to cool data centers powering AI technologies.

As innovation advances, balancing technological progress with environmental sustainability is becoming increasingly critical.
