🌈 Meet the Mandarin fish - this fish is literally showing off a rainbow of colours! Mandarin fish are one of the highlights of diving in the Lembeh Strait. They cannot be found in many places around the world and they are highly territorial, they do not move around and once they have established themselves on a patch of reef, they tend to stay there, meaning you need to find them - they won't just swim by you!

🌄 Mandarin fish are most active at sunset - which is when we set out on our mandarin fish dives. As the sun sets, the Mandarin fish begin their courtship and mating displays. Once a male and female meet they will dance together and swim up out of the reef (belly-to-belly) before releasing their eggs and s***m into the water simultaneously (broadcast reproduction). It's an incredible sight!

🌴🌳🌴 Welcome to our jungle and tree house style cottages! All rooms are incorporate natural and tasteful touches and have ensuite bathrooms - and phenomenal views. When constructing our resort we aimed to save as many trees as possible and build around them instead of cutting them down. We wanted to preserve the natural environment and create a sense of living amid nature!

This is an area of protected forest where you can see some of North Sulawesi's rarest iconic land critters and endemic species. 🐒 Pictured here is the Sulawesi Crested Black Macaque which is endemic to North Sulawesi - and found in large troops running freely in the Tangkoko Nature Reserve. As well as Macaques, Tangkoko is home to tarsier monleys (the world's smallest primate), Bear Cuscus, and numerous species of birds including the huge Knobbed Hornbill, Sulawesi Owls, Kingfishers, Maleo Birds and so many more!

👻 This Melibe colemani is a nudibranch species that is known as one of the most iconic nudibranches worldwide. It's also referred to as the Holy Grail of Nudibranch. Another common name for this species is the Ghost Nudibranch due to its translucent body - and we are spotting them here in Lembeh!
