I was vulnerable, and he had the emotional maturity to receive me.

He told me that when I shared that with him, it awakened something masculine in him. It made him want to hold me, protect me, and be there for me.

I’m not saying to open your heart and be vulnerable with every single person you meet. Your feelings are precious. Your vulnerability is valuable. You’ll feel who is safe enough to receive it.

In our case, both of our hearts were open. It gave us clarity about where we both stood, away from games, confusion, and pretending.

Life keeps showing me that when I show up honestly, the rewards are unmatched. My truth either filters people out or brings the right ones closer.

One thing I learned is to remember what you asked for. What is your main priority in a partner? Away from what your culture, your neighbours, or society says.

What do YOU want? Remember that and ask for it.

From my experience, so many of my personal rules or what I thought I wanted weren’t what I ended up getting. I got what God chose for me.

That’s why I always say… I only wanted who God wanted for me. Not society. Not the world. Only God.

And in the end, he was the perfect husband for me. 🩵
