🏆 A massive congratulations to Sandra Thompson and Shane O’Reilly founders of IO Agri - Sustainable Agri Tech who scooped the prestigious ‘Innovation Award’ at the National Enterprise Awards 2026 in the Dublin this week.

💚 As pressure increases on the agricultural sector their ingenious invention is a system for trapping emissions for farmers and converting these emissions into by-products that can be used for renewable energy production, lowering greenhouse gases and creating a new income stream.

Artificial intelligence and humanity: AI is here, now we have to decide what to do with it Ireland is embracing artificial intelligence faster than many other countries. The question now is what kind of AI future we want to build.

Following on from my Artist in Residence programme at Townhall Cavan, where I have been developing work for an upcoming exhibition, I am delighted to share some of that creative experience with the young makers of Cavan this summer.

Build It. Shape It. Show It. is a unique week-long creative camp combining Brickx Club Cavan and MAKEitCLAY. Children will spend the week building, designing, sculpting and creating before showcasing their work in their very own exhibition for family and friends.

This is a chance for young makers to get a taste of what an artist residency is all about — exploring ideas, developing creations and presenting finished work in a fun and supportive environment.

If your child loves creating, building and using their imagination, this camp is for them.

Cavan County Council is proud to show our support and promote Cavan’s first Pride March taking place this Saturday, 13th June. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The march will assemble outside Cavan Courthouse at 12:30pm, beginning at 1pm and lasting approximately 40 minutes with, followed by music, refreshments and community stalls in Market Square.

We encourage members of the community to come along and show support for inclusion, diversity and equality in Cavan! 🌈

Cavan Pride

The project will engage up to 40 community organisations from Northern Ireland and border counties including Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Louth, Donegal, and Sligo. Expressions of interest are now open, with applications closing on 19 June 2026. Community groups interested in participating can find further details at www.ruralaction.co.
