I was nominated for the Club Solo Business Female Founder Award back in September, which, between the hecticness, I completely forgot to share! 😄💕

The Club is such a wonderful community of women in business supporting, inspiring, and uplifting each other through every stage of the journey.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost five years since I sent out the very first Shelly’s boxes during Covid in 2020. Since then, I’ve shipped thousands of boxes, made new friends while also opening doors to new opportunities I didn’t even knew existed!

Although I didn’t make the finalist shortlist, I was absolutely delighted just to be nominated & even more thrilled to cheer on my lovely friend Fiona, who I first met through Acorns last year.

She went on to win the Solo Business Female Founder Award! 🎉 Her business, , is a beautiful brand doing amazing things for sensitive, rosacea prone skin, definitely worth checking out!

It was such a joy meeting both new and familiar faces at the awards night and you leave those events feeling like anything is possible!

Baking has always been part of my life. Growing up in the Sliabh Aughty’s mountains in Woodford in Galway, it was one of the things that kept me busy. I loved trying out new recipes, and people were always happy to see me coming — usually because I had something freshly baked to share! Every Christmas and birthday, I’d get cookbooks from bakeries I admired, and they became a big source of inspiration.
I love baking for others – seeing people enjoy the treats brings me real joy. What I also love is testing new recipes and seeing what happens. With the current business model means I don’t get to test new recipes as much, I am working on ways to bring seasonal surprises to your boxes. 😉
For me, baking is all about quality ingredients and intention. You don’t need to stick a Kinder Bueno or an Oreo on top to make it delicious. Great baking should be able to stand on its own.
For me, I want Shelly’s to be your go-to gift — not just once, but every time you want to show someone you care. My priority is to make it a thoughtful, personal experience, where every gift box is carefully packed and sent with real love. It’s all about helping you stay connected with the people who matter most. Whether your miles or oceans apart.

Shelly’s carrot cake has been called “the best I’ve ever tasted” by more than one happy customer.
