🚨 Emergency Call Out 🚨

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service paging system was activated yesterday the 4th of June at 16:08hrs requesting assistance following a missing person report.

The person’s last known location was unknown, but it was feared they may have entered the water.

Our inshore rescue boat was immediately launched and mobile units were dispatched to various locations of interest to commence search operations.

A short time later, a person was recovered by our boat crew from the water and transported back to the medical room at the BFRRS station.

Drogheda Gardaí, the National Ambulance Service, and the 24-Hour Doctor on call service were in attendance for the handover.

Following an assessment, the person was sadly pronounced deceased and handed over to the Coroners assistant P.Townley & Sons.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.

We would also like to thank all agencies involved for their assistance and cooperation throughout the operation.
