One step at a time.
We’ve a lot planned for this patient and he’s already lost a lot. Hopefully the future involves implants but stabilising everything before is critical. Tidying up and fixing what can be fixed over multiple visits with a good hearty lecture about hygiene 😅.
You can argue the lifespan of this tooth but for now is standing tall! And don’t those gums look healthier ☺️

Smile upgrade 🤩
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💠 Invisalign
💠 whitening
💠 a little bit of composite bonding to finish
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Results require maintenance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌀 retainers must be worn to keep teeth in position, your teeth think they were in the right position and the often want to go back a little 🥹)
🌀 the whiteness of your teeth will change, diet snd hygiene can impact this, but top up whitening is great to keep the smile bright.
🌀 composite bonding needs regular polishing and in time will need to be replaced, anywhere from 3-7 years is the expected time of looking good.

Daily dentistry.

For me, the hardest thing in dentistry is a good class 2 restoration. So many tricky factors.
Isolation is more challenging, getting sticky composite into a tiny space without any voids, curing (this is a personal obsession!)
You’ve got a tiny dark box with so many tricky factors to deal with. I fret about bond strength, depth of cure, c-factor(does it still matter?)
I am always worried about how good my restoration is as a perfectly good tooth failed, every fix I do is ultimately a compromise to the perfection of nature.
Obviously, all my restorations come with a healthy lecture about OH! (I am very encouraging and persistent)

Material science matters so I’m a sucker for instructions 🤓
Follow the instructions.

Ps. I’m not very into polishing posterior teeth, if it’s functional, does it need a high sheen?

, is this a good enough photo?? 🙈
