More great news for the club as Anthony o sullivan will be taking over our Saturday side for the upcoming season. Assisted by his brother joe. It's a great signing for the club as anto has been involved the last 2 seasons with the Saturday side and was a key member of the squad. Delighted to have the 2 brothers on board.
Want to also say a huge thanks to karl our out going manager without him and his Saturday side over the last few years the club would have struggled. He brought in a whole new side and had 2 solid seasons and always in the running for cups. Best of luck karl with your PHD and travels to Italy the club appreciates all you did thanks

Frank Roe 1/4 final:
Kingswood Castle 2:2 SPP a.e.t
Lost 4-3 on penos

Very entertaining game at Newlands Cross yesterday saw our final Saturday game of the season. Twice taking the lead in this game through Gavin Sperin and Shane Sweeney only to be plugged back each time. Both teams begun confidently in an end to end game. Pitch was enormous but we coped well without our talisman Graeme Roche. Joe O Sullivan and Gav Sperin in particular dictating the flow. We lost Craig to a hamstring injury after 25 mins which was a blow but we took the lead soon after directly from a corner. Gav with his wand of a left foot once again. Keeper did well to keep another of his rasping strikes out. 1:0 HT

Second half KC begun the better and had a number of well struck shots only to be just off target. They equalised soon after with a brilliantly struck curving shot to Smith's bottom right. Unstoppable. We dealt with this well and should have taken a lead. Jonner through on goal and as he stabbed home, the defender made a great goal line block. Marko doing something similar later on for us at the other end. Shane soon after through a free kick beat the keeper with the help of a deflection. Ball bouncing over the keeper 2.1. A few minutes after, KC responding to make it 2.2. We lost Anto K around minute 70 or so for two yellows. The first of which was probably harsh but it galvanised us and we took it through to FT and Extra time. Giving as good as we got. Smithy making an important save from a free.

Up came penos and both teams scored their first three. Us via Gav, Joe and Dylan Walsh. Jack and McCann unfortunate to have theirs saved. Each man put on a mammoth effort from the start to the end and penos can be cruel. There's a right way to lose a game and that's with having given everything you had in the tank. We did that and I'm proud of the players.

Motm: hard one to call. Defence were so hard working, Jonner worked tirelessly. However three in particular stood out: D Walsh, Joe O Sullivan and Gav but going with Joe who covered so much ground today and did brilliantly to help compensate for Graeme's absence. Top effort from all. Have a great summer. Karl

SPP 6-2 Hotpress.

Last league game of the season at home and we signed off well with another good win. Ahead after 8 minutes after the brilliant Dylan Walsh cooly slotted in his first of the afternoon under pressure. Within 5 mins his strike partner Jonner added a second. Cutting in from left, and finishing well. We could have had more but Dylan added our third before we gave one away just before HT; 3-1

Second half was similar. We lifted it a little after finishing first half sloppily and with Dylan finishing again with another cool finish before the excellent Joe O Sullivan added a bullet header at the back post from a Gav assist before the ginger genius got himself on the score sheet. The Roche twin engines came off for a rest along with the hatrick man and on came Marko, Tom B, Tom G and Joe pushed on to cause more havoc. Still, enough time for Hotpress to pull one back through a great free kick. Finished 6-2. Motm: Ran closely by Joe O Sullivan who coming back from injury bossed the game and provided some important assists but the fantastic Dylan Walsh takes that accolade today with some great finishes. Well done all.

Just a small note on the Saturday team. That sees us finish our league season already having played such few games. Small league and then further team drop outs. 4th place isn't what we hoped for at beginning of season but we were a little slow of the mark in the autumn. A few unfortunate narrow defeats-never by more than a single goal- hurt us as the league was very small to try recover. Losing a protest to Raheny didn't help but missing so many key players early in season in big games and a few ins and outs meant it took us a couple of months to click. Since then we've been so very much improved and have finished very strongly. Some of the younger players improving very steadily. We've our 1/4 final upcoming in the Frank Roe and we'll give everything to try win this trophy for our fantastic club. I'm very proud of the players' efforts and attitude this season. Let's keep it going. Cheers men. Karl M.

And the best of luck to our Sunday team in their remaining 4 league games beginning Tuesday at home.
