Enoch Burke has broken his silence on what he claims is a "scandal" following his latest release from Castlerea Prison on Wednesday morning.

The High Court ordered Enoch Burke's release from prison despite the schoolteacher's ongoing refusal to comply with court orders banning him from his former workplace.

Burke has spent more than 700 days in jail across different spells over his contempt of court orders banning him from Wilson's Hospital School in Co Westmeath.

Judge Brian Cregan on Wednesday said he would release Burke due to a "material change" in circumstances following the recent refusal of Burke's appeal against his dismissal for gross misconduct.

In a video posted on the Enoch Burke X account on Wednesday night, Burke spoke about his release from Castlerea Prison, as he made claims of a "gross injustice" of the disciplinary appeals panel process in his case.

He said in a video released on Wednesday night: "This morning we saw Judge (Brian) Cregan releasing me here from Castlerea Prison, but under the pretext that the DAP, that's the disciplinary appeals panel, is over, he said, and is at an end.

"And Judge Cregan knows full well that the disciplinary appeal panel was chaired by Ms. Claire Callanan, the chair of the disciplinary panel of the Church of Ireland, and I would say one of the most powerful women in the Church of Ireland, also the wife of Mr. Lyndon McCann, senior counsel, one of the most powerful men in the Church of Ireland.
