One Ball, Two Beautiful Creations

Perfect for gifting or personal indulgence, the King Cole Yummy Bouquet is a 600g supersize cake of ultra-soft chenille yarn. Hold it upright and it’s a beautiful floral “bouquet”, lay it flat and it unfolds into a crocheted blanket with a flower border. Every colour needed is included within the yarn cake, and the pattern is tucked inside the band.

Learning to crochet or expanding your skills? The zoom crochet classes will be resuming on Monday 1st September. Beginners will be making a Baby Cardi and Blanket. While the Intermediate/Advanced class will be making a cabled Hat, Cowl and Bag.

Absolutely blown away by the stunning KNITTED MAP OF IRELAND on display at Carnew Community Care! 🌟 This giant 5×4 m wool masterpiece, handcrafted by the incredibly talented ladies of the Home First knitting group, features iconic landmarks—from Glendalough’s Round Tower and the Guinness Storehouse to the Giants’ Causeway and Blarney Castle—each crafted with boundless creativity and dedication

What makes it even more remarkable? It’s the result of FOUR years of dedicated handiwork, involving 19 local women who met weekly, poured in thousands of hours, and brought this vision to life—despite the challenges of Covid and the loss of a few dear friends along the way.

This isn’t just a map—it’s a labour of love, a triumph of community, and a celebration of Irish creativity. Hats off to Teresa Moran, Betty Kavanagh, Mary Blake, Helan Caroll Kelly, Josie Doyle, Liz Butler, and all the amazing women behind this masterpiece. You’ve made us all proud. 👏❤️
