I’ve been looking at a lot of clinic websites recently.

And most of them aren’t badly designed at all.

They’re just overloaded.

Physio.
Massage.
Pilates.
Fitness.
Wellbeing.

From the business side, that feels like growth.

More services, more options, more ways to help people.

From the patient side, it often feels like:

“Where do I even start?”

Most people don’t think in services.

They think in pain, worry, or uncertainty.

“My back’s been niggling for months.”
“I don’t want to make this worse.”
“I just want someone to guide me.”

When a website asks them to choose the right service, it puts the pressure back on them.

That’s usually when:

People hesitate and go elsewhere, book the wrong thing, or don’t book at all and just leave.

Then admin teams spend their days fixing mistakes, and owners stay involved far longer than they want to.

It’s not really a design issue and it’s not a service issue either.

It’s a pathway issue.

When everything is an option, nothing feels like a clear next step.

Clarity beats choice, every time.

📊 Sunday 1st Dec: Public Accountability Update

Here’s how it went:
• Exercise: ✅ A bit of running with the boys at rugby training – every bit counts!
• Steps (10k): ❌ 8,226 – creeping closer, but not quite there.
• No Alcohol: ✅ Another tick in the box here.
• Calories (under 2000): ❌ 3,147 – not my best day. That 1,900 kcal Papa Johns Pizza didn’t help. Lesson learned!
• Water (2L): ❌ 1.8L – the closest yet, but still a bit short.

Monday morning weigh-in (InBody scan with Coach Lucas):
• Weight: 107.4kg (down from 108.1kg last Monday)

Reflection:
It’s been a week of wins and lessons. While Sunday’s calories went a bit wild, the overall trend is heading in the right direction, with 0.7kg lost in a week. Small steps forward add up, and even on challenging days, progress is still possible with a little planning .

💪 This week’s focus: tighten up on the weekends, keep building on steps and water intake, and stay consistent. Let’s make Week 2 even better!

Let me know if you’d like any changes!

📊 Day 4 Update: Public Accountability

Thursday 28th Nov ✅

How it went:
• Exercise: ❌ None. Busy day in the office with clients and sorting my car after someone reversed into it. Excuses? Maybe.
• Steps (10k): ❌ 7,994 – creeping closer, but still not there.
• No Alcohol: ✅ Did have a couple of Lucky Saints though (alcohol-free, so it counts!).
• Calories (under 2000): ✅ 1,744 – steady progress here.
• Sleep (7 hours): ✅ 7 hours 7 minutes – finally hit it!
• Water (2L): ❌ 1.3L – slowly getting there, but still short.

Lesson learned:
Some days just don’t go to plan, and today was one of them. No gym session and missed the steps target again, but I’m not letting it derail me. At least the calories and sleep were on point, and the water intake is edging closer to where it needs to be.

The big takeaway? Busy days will always come up—it’s about finding a way to fit it all in anyway. Tomorrow’s another chance to do better, and I’m ready for it.

💪 Game plan for tomorrow: hit those steps, drink 2l.
