There are paintings that stick to your heart. Sometimes it is the subject, some other times the moment you painted them…in this case it’s the colours: I hand-churned every single colour of this one…that wonderful cobalt blue at the background, the copper orange, the white and so on…each starting from the pigment powder adding oils and binders. A very laborious process but worth the effort. Each brush stroke tells a story. I was able to get the pigments locally, ( has a great selection) , which added to the magic of the journey!
