Ever wonder how your yarn is actually made?
We were lucky enough to step inside the Sandnes Garn mill in Norway and see a little of the magic for ourselves - from fibre and machinery to those beautiful finished balls of yarn we know so many of you love knitting with.
Sandnes Garn has been making yarn since 1888, and seeing the care, knowledge and dedication behind the scenes made us appreciate it even more. There’s something very special about watching yarn come to life before it ever reaches your needles.
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Sandnes Garn for welcoming us so warmly, showing us around their amazing facility, and giving us memories to last a lifetime. Norway has been on our bucket list for a long time, and this visit was every bit as special as we hoped.
Extra highlights included a special guest appearance from PetiteKnit, a beautiful hike, and, of course, a very tempting visit to the factory store. Pure yarn joy from start to finish.
This was my first proper day back on the TIK floor post treatment, and I was very nervous about being out of practice... Turns out it's like riding a woolly bike, thank goodness, and both my hands and I *really* enjoyed being back in the middle of it all 😊

Cloudbreak by .and.pine.designs has quietly worked its way onto our list of favourite summer tees. 💙
The smooth stockinette keeps the knitting nice and relaxing, then just when you're settling into the rhythm, you get to the delicate scalloped hem. It's such a lovely detail, and easier to knit than it looks.
We've paired it with Townhouse Yarns Drury DK in Cloak, a soft merino, cashmere and nylon blend that gives the fabric beautiful stitch definition and a really comfortable feel to wear.
