So the first major trophy of the .and.district.league is being contested on Saturday night in the Home of Football - Oriel Park. The Auto Assure Ltd Clancy Cup final kicks off at 7pm in Oriel Park, with 13 time Clancy Cup Winners taking on who have won the cup twice in their 20 years.

All support is welcome to Oriel Park for what promises to be a great night of football. With Muirhevna Mor sitting second in the league table and Rampart Celtic in 3rd, we are hoping for a very evenly matched game. With some serious names in the Muirhevna Mor side, we are expecting a solid performance from them. The experience in their squad with Dixon, Conlon, O'Kane, Mackin and Mulvenna, not to mention the Begley brothers, Keith Harmon in the middle, and a dangerous Colm Bracken up front, who will certainly trouble the Rampart defence.

Ramparts are on a decent run, with just one loss in their last 7 games. To their credit they inflicted the only defeat of the season on a strong Carlingford side on their path to the final. With manager Kieran Pickering in his 20th year at the helm, the only player still surviving the 20 year term across winter and summer, is club captain Eoin McGuinness. With some serious quality in the side, they will be no walkover for the Muirhevna Mor men. They have a net minder in form in Aaron Conway, and have serious experience with Ferguson, Ronain Bailey, Larkin and Johnny Lynch. As well as their top scorer Sean Bailey back from a lengthy injury. Former summer league Player of the Year, Sean McQuillan will also feature, with his Dromiskin side-kick N***y McGuinness.

The league would like to welcome everyone to Oriel Park on Saturday for the 1st cup of the summer campaign. Admission is €5.
