Galway Simon Community
Providing support and accommodation services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon since 1979.
You showed up before the sun did. 🌅
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Summer Solstice Dip at Dawn and helped make the morning so special.
Together, you helped raise an incredible €7,623 in support of Galway Simon Community, helping us continue our work with people at risk of or experiencing homelessness across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
A very special thank you to SoulMoves for leading such a beautiful start to the morning, to Into the Blue, to Galway Bay Hotel for their generous support, and to Álainn for opening up for us on the morning.
We’re also so grateful to Sound to Light for providing the sound on the day, and to Irish Society, Nuasan, Kali, Care Pharmacy Salthill, The Creamery Café and The Ardilaun Hotel for their kind support and donations.
And of course, thank you to every single person who got up early, showed up, dipped, donated, shared, supported and brought such lovely energy to the morning.
Every donation helps Galway Simon Community continue our mission to support people facing homelessness, and to work towards a future where everyone has a safe place to call home.
Thank you for dipping at dawn with us. 💛

Galway Simon Community is delighted to be one of over 170 organisations across Ireland to receive support through the latest round of RTÉ Toy Show Grants, made possible by the generosity of RTÉ Toy Show Appeal viewers.
Locally, Galway Simon is receiving support of €40,000 to supports its Family First Fund. Galway Simon Community’s Families First Fund is a child-focused wellbeing initiative embedded within our services across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. The programme responds to the recognised impact of housing insecurity on children by providing targeted supports that promote creativity, play, social inclusion and emotional wellbeing for children living in families affected by homelessness.
Through the Families First Fund, children can access activities that foster confidence, creativity and positive childhood experiences, including parent toddler playgroups, speech and language supports, and sports activities or other social groups. These opportunities support emotional development, peer connection and participation in community life, helping children maintain a sense of normality during periods of housing instability. The programme also provides important respite for parents, enabling them to maintain employment, attend appointments and focus on sustaining their housing.
A huge thank you to Community Foundation Ireland and to everyone who donated to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal. Your generosity is helping to create real change for children and families in communities across Ireland. 💛
