Limerick Alt Rock / Alt Metal artist Layen_ has proven to be one of Ireland’s most promising upcoming alternative acts. Recent singles “unravel” and “broken spirit” blend melancholic walls of reverb-soaked guitars with crushing drums and rich layers of vocals, inspired by acts such as Thornhill, Static Dress and Loathe.

Refining elements of no-wave and shoegaze into “sheets of distortion and [a] gripping sense of catharsis” (Evening Echo), and described as “one of the most promising of the new wave of ‘quiet-loud-scary” bands haunting venues up and down Ireland“ (Ellevenses), Cork trio THERAPY HORSE marshal a gamut of influences including Lingua Ignota, Wednesday, Mogwai and Slint, as well as Irish acts such as Percolator and Elastic Sleep, into an exorcistic wall of sound.
