Triggers and Glimmers
I came across this concept recently and thought it apt to share especially with the season that is in it. Tensions can be high this time of year so something that I’ve found helpful is to note the triggers, let them go, then replace with glimmers.

Triggers are how we react to certain situations or people. Rather than react to them could you instead ‘Be‘ with the feeling evoked in your body, give it your full attention, allowing the energy of it to dissipate. Remember the only person it’s harming is you and by holding on to it and perhaps feeding it with more negative mind chatter you’re making it bigger!!

Instead why not swap the negative thoughts with ‘Glimmers’. These can be anything you want from thinking about someone or something that brings you joy or to just simply come into the moment you are in right now and expressing gratitude for all you have.

Throughout our lives, we will meet a wide variety of people with different personalities, backgrounds, and journeys. Some, we may connect with easily. Some, we may find hard to be with. In any case, we are all influenced by each other.

So be discerning about who you welcome into your inner circle. Because it doesn’t matter how many courses we take. Or how many books we read. Or how many blogs we follow. Nothing will push us to growth more than the relationships we have, and the people we trust. The people who believe in us. The ones who support our dreams. The ones who love us and challenge us to reach our potential, not only in what we do, but in how we walk through life. Who is that for you? These are the ones to keep close.

Drop a 💞if you agree.

Letters to a Willow Tree:

Letter I:
It may seem at times
that you rarely get to witness
beautiful change,
but the way you remain,
roots deep in soft ground,
branches fully alive in the air,
is its own form of
slow, beautiful direction,
set in motion, holding ground
through rain and wind.
The landscape remembers.
and your steadiness and gentleness matter,
as movement and stillness
find rhythm around you.
You are free to be in process here.

Letter II:
It may seem at times
that you rarely get to witness
beautiful change,
but the way you remain,
roots deep in soft ground,
branches fully alive in the air,
is its own form of
slow, beautiful direction,
set in motion, holding ground
through rain and wind.
The landscape remembers.
and your steadiness and gentleness matter,
as movement and stillness
find rhythm around you.
Your presence here is not in vain.
