***Attention Leaving Cert Students***
We understand you may be finding this period of studying very challenging. This is an unprecedented time that you are navigating through but we believe you can get through this and be successful.
Like most businesses, we are currently running our service online. We can provide you with a unique one to one mentoring service, helping you use your time and energy correctly and keep your focus on your end goals. The service is conducted in three simple steps:
1. We will send you a mini questionnaire for you to complete and return by email, giving a brief background and highlighting your particular concerns.
2. We will then conduct a 1 hour Skype call with you.
3. Taking the items discussed on the call, we will put together a brief recommendation report to help you going forward.
This service would normally cost €100 but because of the unprecedented circumstances students are finding themselves in we are offering a special for this whole service of €50.
To avail of this offer, simply email us at [email protected]

Great article in the Irish Times on Sixth Year.
If you are still undecided about whether to do Higher or Ordinary level in a particular subject, now is the time to review. There is good advice in this article. My view is that you only drop to Ordinary Level if there is a real danger of you failing. If at all possible, continue at Higher Level until at least the October Mid-Term. Give yourself every chance to achieve the required standard. When you make the decision, make sure you will have no regrets later on. See what affect it will have on your overall Points position. A few weeks into Sixth Year is a good time to assess how things are going. Have you settled into a good routine? Is the Set-up you have for doing Homework, Study and Revision working? Change anything that is not working.
Advice for sixth years There is flexibility around the subjects you choose but don’t leave any big decisions for the day of the exam

‘One2One’ Mentoring Service for Leaving Certificate Students.
Tony Bellew’s ‘One2One’ mentoring service provides support and expert advice for Leaving Certificate students. A big part of Tony’s service involves listening to the student and parents, eventually coming up with an Individual Plan. The Plan would include drawing up suitable schedules for school related work.
A priority with each Plan is to make sure that there is good balance between school related work and leisure time. Adequate rest and recovery time is essential for quality work to take place. Advice is given on how to do quality Homework, Study and Revision. Advice is also given on how to do well in Tests and Examinations. Weaknesses are identified and a Plan is put in place to tackle them. Students are shown how to cope with set-backs.
The service encourages students to take more responsibility themselves. They are encouraged to adopt a positive attitude no matter what circumstances they are faced with. The service provides ongoing reviews to assess how the student is progressing. A detailed report is provided on each meeting. There is a minimum of five meetings. With the right attitude and appropriate structures in place, every student can succeed. The service helps students to realize their potential.

Setting Goals
We must always be setting ourselves Goals to achieve. Our overall long-term goal should be the Targeted Grades we are going to achieve in the Leaving Certificate. Short-term goals relate to what we want to achieve on a daily basis. Medium-term have to do with what we want to achieve on the way to the Leaving Certificate Examinations – performance in ongoing Class Tests and Mocks etc. If we are achieving are Short-term goals on a daily basis, the Medium and Long-term ones will take care of themselves.
Read the ‘Attached Article’ and select a few things that will improve your Goal Setting.
Setting goals Setting yourself goals is the best way to motivate and move on

Kind words from a mother of a Sixth Year Student I mentored last year.....
'By applying Tony’s mentoring plan, it set him on the right path at the beginning of the year with their work scheduling. It was welcomed advice. He also listened to him and his concerns and helped him prepare his course work accordingly setting out clear goals for the year ahead. Tony’s experience came to the forefront with my son and the results are great. He was able to get his priorities in order at the beginning of the year, setting a new path moving forward. Tony has regular contact with him plus scheduled meetings to measure the progress and deal with any difficulties together.
My son found the reports throughout the year very useful as it focussed him on the areas he needed to cover. Tony was also available at any stage over the phone if the need arose. We personally hold Tony in huge regard as he truly takes direct personal interest in each of his students. All relationships are built on a foundation of trust from the outset and Tony has an amazing way of achieving this with all of his students.'
