אחר שבועות של מלחמה, אנחנו פותחים מחדש את התערוכה של דני קרוון, ״הרהורים על מלחמה ושלום״.
במלחמת ששת הימים, בזמן שירות מילואים, התלווה קרוון לכוחות הלוחמים ויצר סדרה של רישומים מהירים ואקספרסיביים, התופסים ברגע מכריע את הפיתוי ואת העוולה של המלחמה. לעומת מציאות זו, ולאורך עשורים, הוא יצר סביבות של שלום — מיצבים, פסלים, רישומים, הדפסים — בשיווי משקל מופלא של שקט וזרימה.
בתערוכה מבחר מיצירותיו של אחד מגדולי האמנים הישראלים שבמשך שנים של יצירה ממוקדת עוקב אחר תנועת המטוטלת של הקיום, ריקוד המוות והחיים.

After weeks of war, we are reopening the exhibition by Dani Karavan, “Meditations on War and Peace.”
During the Six-Day War, while serving in the reserves, Karavan accompanied the combat forces and created a series of rapid, expressive drawings that capture, in a decisive moment, both the seduction and the injustice of war. In contrast to this reality, and over the course of decades, he created environments of peace — installations, sculptures, drawings, prints — in a remarkable balance of stillness and flow.
The exhibition presents a selection of works by one of Israel’s greatest artists, who, through dedication and focused practice, traces the pendulum movement of existence — a dance of death and life.
