HAJI EBRAHIM KHATRI- KAMALA AWARD 2019 WINNER.

The Crafts Council of India instituted the Annual ‘Kamala Awards’ in 2000 in memory of our patron founder Smt.Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay to honor and recognize craft activists and hereditary craft artisans for their work.

This year 7 Awards were given during CCI’s National Meet at Manipal, Karnataka. The Awardees honored are:

• Shri.Kartik Chauhan (Applique Craft Work) Ahmedabad - Kamala Award for ‘Excellence in Craftsmanship’

• Shri.N.Ganesh (Traditional Bronze Sculpture) Bengaluru - Kamala Award for ‘Excellence in Craftsmanship’

• Shri.Biren Kumar Basak (Jamdani Weaving) Nadia - Shanta Prasad Award for ‘Excellence in Handloom Weaving

• Shri.Haji Ebrahim Khatri (Traditional Bagh Prints) Bagh - Kamala Award for ‘Contribution to Crafts’

• Shri.Prasanta Maharana (Pattachitra Artwork) Puri - ‘Young Artisan’ Award

• Shri.Mohit Jangid (Sandalwood Miniature Carving) Jaipur - ‘Young Artisan’ Award

• Shri.S.P.Mookkaiya (Chettinad Egg Plaster Work) Karaikudi - Kamala Award for ‘Revival of Languishing Crafts
