The comparison is impossible to ignore. Same game, same place, same situation.....only this time the Knicks were on the other end.
The Cavs were up 22. Then suddenly couldn't function. Their defense was torched by a combustable Jalen Brunson, their offense ran out of gas.
And then came the game-tying three-pointer -- this one not from the hand of Tyrese Haliburton, but Landry Shamet -- and the ball bounced three times before it fatefully dropped.
Was there ever any doubt who was going to win the game after that?
Another scintillating Knicks playoff win. That's now eight straight.
And you have to ask yourself, how can you not believe in a team that seems to CLEARLY believe in themselves at this point, after all they've been through?

Like in the previous series, the Knicks have the benefit of rest and home court advantage. Like the Sixers in the last series, the Cavs are coming off a Game 7 with one day to travel to New York and prepare for Game 1.
Cavs star Donovan Mitchell, who is from Westchester, said on Prime's Nightcap show that the Knicks are "peaking at the right time. A lot of guys are playing well over there, obviously you’ve got Jalen Brunson, the head of the snake. Karl-Anthony Towns. But Mikal and OG are equally dangerous, we know Josh Hart is a dog. . .. We know it’s going to be a dog fight. Might be another Game 7, you know what I’m saying?”
Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson, who is from Long Island, talked about the challenge of facing the Knicks on a quick turnaround. Click the video to hear what he said and tell me in the comments what you think of this matchup!
