đŸ’¡Indian mobile operators increase price by upto 20% to boost average revenue per user (ARP) The Telcos are in desperate need of capital to enhance connectivity and to invest on upcoming 5G upgrade.
The price war killed almost a dozen mobile operators and now reduced to just 3 main players except BSNL. Cutting each others throat to capture market share is no longer a viable option.
India's data price is still cheaper compared to global peers. So, the increase in price won't boost profitability of mobile operators, but would give them some breather.
Reliance Jio is still the cheapest data provider. Airtel and VI (Vodafone Idea) have similar pricing.
