I recently tried the New & Improved L’Oréal Paris Excellence Hair Color, now enriched with Hyaluronic Acid to help keep hair feeling smoother, softer, and nourished while colouring.

A beautiful hair colour is only half the story, how you care for it afterwards makes all the difference. Here are some simple post-colour care tips I always recommend:

✔️ Space out your colour sessions and avoid frequent chemical treatments.
✔️ Choose shades that don’t require bleaching whenever possible.
✔️ Apply a sealant like Vaseline along the hairline before colouring to prevent staining and pigmentation.
✔️ While rinsing, tilt your head backwards to avoid colour running onto your face.
✔️ Use a colour-safe shampoo and conditioner.
✔️ Wash with cool or lukewarm water and avoid over-shampooing.
✔️ Deep condition weekly to combat dryness and brittleness.
✔️ Limit heat styling and keep heat settings low.
✔️ Protect your hair from sun exposure with a hat or scarf.
✔️ Wear a swim cap while swimming, as chlorine can affect hair colour.
✔️ Use colour-protecting products to maintain vibrancy.
✔️ Trim regularly to keep split ends in check.
