Is the RTI law in danger of losing its might? The RTI Act of 2005 made the government more accountable. But a new set of proposed rules may weaken the law and make it difficult and risky for people to access information

We have published the final report of the RTI and the High Courts project here. The project ran from December 2016 to April 2017. During the project, we have sent over 100 RTI applications to around 12 High Courts, Compiled over 1000 pages of RTI responses, compared the RTI rules of 16 High Courts, Compared the sou-moto declarations of the nine high courts and looked at over 60 judgments on RTI which have been a part of our sample.
