At Digii100, Shri. Pawan Danwar, Chief Finance Officer & President, HCL Corporation, pointed to two persistent challenges in higher education.

First, the shortage of quality faculty. Second, research still begins too late in the education journey.

He also raised a larger question—if India aims to compete globally, can these gaps be solved by individual institutions alone, or do they require collective action across the ecosystem?

We were at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 yesterday at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) booth: great energy, a lot of interesting conversations.

There is a clear momentum among institutions right now to be AI-first. What stood out even more was how actively universities are showing up in these spaces. From research labs to robotics to serious AI investments, the ambition is visible.

We presented Digii’s 𝗔𝗜 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿, built specifically for higher education. It brings together patterns across academic performance, engagement, and progression to understand the full student journey in context.

When institutions can see those patterns clearly, they can offer guidance earlier, more consistently, and at scale. Not just when a student raises a hand, but throughout the entire journey.

This is not a replacement for human judgment. It is a continuous layer of insight that strengthens it.

Grateful for the conversations and the shared commitment to responsible, scalable AI. The ambition in Indian higher education is real, and it is exciting to witness.
