Manteddula Amavasya:
This festival is to celebrate the importance of bulls and cattle in farming
This is the first time I'm hearing and being a part of this festival. It is celebrated in few parts of Andhra and Karnataka. On the day of Jyeshtha Amavasya, farmers make these bulls out of clay, decorate them and offer prayers. The following day, the Nimarjan is done in fields (or planters). Farmers believe they will have a good harvest with the blessings.

My father-in-law had bought these clay bulls, now readily available in market, the day before and told me how they used to celebrate in their childhood. I tried to decorate them with the available three colors, white, black and orange. My kids were excited to paint too and the next day participated in Pooja with much interest. The following day we did the Nimarjan and these pics were taken then.
