Development Focus

Our Story

Development Focus facilitates and builds the capacities of grass root-level organizations, to empower underprivileged communities to achieve quality of life through education. We see education from a broader perspective as preparation for life rather than just passing grades. Life skills and livelihood skills are promoted for children at primary schools between the ages of 7-14yrs, and livelihood skills for youth in the age group of 15-20yrs.

Focus:

Poverty Reduction: Increasing access to relevant good-quality education by means of feasible, affordable and sustainable (local) solutions
Strengthening Civil Societies: Strengthening the capacity of local actors (in particular from civil society) to develop, try out and promote feasible, affordable and sustainable (local) solutions to increase access to relevant and good-quality education
Lobby and Advocacy: Initiating, participating in and supporting national and international campaigns and lobbying activities in the field of EFA [Education for All] and related issues, in order to translate the universal right to free and good-quality education into guaranteed access to education
