Integrated Health Camp Successfully Organized at Uri; Around 2,500 People Screened and Benefitted
Uri, 18 June 2026: An Integrated Health Camp was successfully organized today at Uri under the aegis of the J&K AIDS Control Society, National Health Mission (NHM) J&K, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, 419 Base Hospital (Army), Department of AYUSH, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), and other allied health programmes.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the H MLA Uri, Sajad Shafi Uri , in the presence of Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saba Wani, Deputy Director Schemes and Dr A G Raina CMO Baramulla along with senior officers of the Health Department and representatives from participating organizations. The dignitaries appreciated the dedicated efforts of healthcare teams and reiterated the Government's commitment to ensuring quality healthcare services at the doorstep of the people, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
A comprehensive range of healthcare services was provided during the camp, including general medical consultations, specialist consultations, screening and management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), tuberculosis screening, HIV/AIDS awareness and counseling, maternal and child healthcare services, laboratory investigations, free distribution of medicines, AYUSH consultations, ABHA registration, Ayushman Bharat services, and health education activities.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming public response, with approximately 2,500 individuals screened and benefitted through various health interventions and diagnostic services. Dedicated teams comprising doctors, specialists, medical officers, Army medical personnel, paramedics, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, MLHPs, ANMs, and other healthcare workers rendered their services throughout the day to ensure smooth and effective delivery of healthcare services.
Addressing the gathering, theMLA Uri Dr Sajjad shafi Uri highlighted the importance of such outreach initiatives in strengthening healthcare accessibility and improving health outcomes among the population. He appreciated the Health Department, Army authorities, and all participating agencies for organizing the camp successfully.
Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saba Wani, Deputy Director Schemes and Dr. A.G. Raina, Chief Medical Officer Baramulla emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare, early disease detection, community awareness, and strengthening public health services across the region. They encouraged the public to actively participate in health screening programmes and avail themselves of the services being provided by the Health Department.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to 419 Base Hospital (Army), NHM J&K, J&K AIDS Control Society, AYUSH Department, NTEP teams, healthcare professionals, local representatives, volunteers, and members of the public whose cooperation and support contributed to the grand success of the Integrated Health Camp.
