The largest sunspots of 2025! Each of the big size sunspot size is equivalent to 5/6 Earth! Bangalore, India December 3, 2025 What is sunspot? A sunspot is a temporary, dark, and cooler region on the Sun’s visible surface (photosphere) caused by intense magnetic activity. These magnetic fields inhibit the convection process that brings heat to the surface, making the sunspot cooler than its surroundings, although still extremely hot. Sunspots often occur in pairs with opposite magnetic polarity and are the source of solar flares and other solar eruptions.
