The Chainsmokers and NGHTMRE's Massive Creation 'Save Yourself'
Is this the new Skrillex? No, it's just The Chainsmokers ad NGHTMRE absolutely unloading an all-out assault on your ears. "Save Yourself" is a rough, rumbling blast of bass that somehow still finds room to be melodic and worth a good singalong.
"Save Yourself" was debuted during The Chainsmokers’ headline gig at Ultra Miami earlier this year. NGHTMRE also teased it during hsi set at EDC Las Vegas. Now, the monstrous, tower-crumbling basslines are out in full, courtesy of Disruptor Records as part of the New York City duo's Sick Boy set of releases.
The Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart provides the vocal for what is definitely the hardest tune these dudes have ever been a part of. Everyone is shining on this one.

Jason Derulo, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and W***y William Team Up For 'Goodbye'
David Guetta is still putting in elbow grease on his Anne-Marie collaboration "Don't Leave Me Alone," but that doesn't mean he's resting on his laurels. Pop/R&B singer Jason Derulo dropped his own Guetta tune titled "Goodbye" Friday (Aug. 24), featuring Guetta's "Hey Mama" partner Nicki Minaj and fellow French DJ and music producer W***y William.
Derulo's music has always had a heavy dance floor vibe. Hits "Want to Want Me" and "Tip Toe" with French Montana are gyrating gems. He previously collaborated with Norwegian tropical house producer Matoma, too, but this is his first time in the studio with the French electronic hitmaker. It's a spicy number.
Meanwhile, Derulo is gearing up for his Just For You Foundation to host the inaugural “Heart of Haiti Gala” in Los Angeles on Sept. 6. Derulo, Florida Georgia Line and Shaggy will be performing at the event, which intends to honor communities that have undergone economic, political, and social difficulties.

R3HAB Breaks Down His 16-Track Album 'The Wave'
Roller coasters are the go-to metaphor for life. It's a ride that takes us through ups and downs, sometimes violently spiraling until it feels like we'll be thrown from the sides, but life isn't always violent. Sometimes it's soft and warm. Sometimes it flows slow only to swell with sudden, sweet urgency. That's why R3HAB ditched the usual and named his sophomore album The Wave.
"The Wave stands for the emotions and feelings that we experience in life," R3HAB says in an emailed statement. "Just like waves, they hit us and slowly and roll back. It usually doesn't take long to be hit with a new wave. The album has a record for each type of mood you are in, with its own vibe and identity. Blended and banded together with electronic production, it feels like a special journey to me."
From growing instrumentals to soulful vocal tracks, high-energy singalongs and playful, tinkering tunes, here is a breakdown of R3HAB's The Wave, straight from his own creative mind.

ZHU & Majid Jordan Catch a Darker Side of '80s R&B Soul on 'Coming Home'
ZHU's music has always been for the slinky, sensual creatures of the night. Whether he pens cold, pulsing beats for warehouses or snake-like songs for the bedroom, his is a nocturnal affair.
He found inspiration in the city on debut album Generation Why?, then snuck away to to make the arid cries of his recent EP Ringos Desert Pt. 1. Now, he takes his sound to new places with a nostalgic kind of R&B, and he tapped the ever-soulful OVO duo Majid Jordan to do it.
"Coming Home" is flirty and funky with ZHU's signature, breathy vocals and seductive guitar lines. Canadian duo Majid Jordan is perfectly smooth, ending even more jazzy air to a tune that already oozes an '80s slickness. There's a certain balance of cheese and cool factor that has us nostalgic for the era's grooviest hits. It's a bold look for ZHU who seems out to prove his versatility.
If you're waiting for more desert vibes and a Ringos Pt. 2, don't fret. The producer promised a continuation in a tweet earlier this summer. This is just a fun new thing for the fans to sink their teeth into, and a cool way to take this whole retro-house vibe and spin it. "Coming Home" is out now on Mind of a Genius.

BASTILLE ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH MARSHMELLO
Mark this one down in the “collaborations we never expected” column. Bastille, the band behind the mega hit “Pompeii” from 2013, has just announced they have a track with Marshmello, called “Happier,” coming out this Friday.
“Last year we wrote a song called ‘Happier’ which we thought would be great as a collaboration,” the band wrote. “We had a lot of fun getting to work on it with Marshmello who managed to find some joy in the melancholy. It’s always good to step into somebody else’s world for a minute and we’re excited for the track to finally be out on Friday.”
The short 10-second preview doesn’t exactly give a full idea of what the collaboration will sound like, but we at least know that it will be a poppier production with some sadder lyrical content.
