THE KOUTRUK INCIDENT AND THE DRONE FIASCO

What happened on 1st Sept 2024 at Koutruk, Imphal-West, Manipur, has been totally blown out of proportion by the National Media through the State Media! A commercial drone was suddenly turned into US-made military Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) Reaper-9, armed with Hellfire guided-rockets, by the State Govt! Nothing could be more ridiculous than this! The formation of a Committee to investigate the "drone attack" which comprised Addl DGP(Intell), IGAR(S), GOC 57th Mountain Division, IG CRPF(M/N) and DIG BSF was also childish and shocking as well!

The first known bomb-attack by Drones was carried out by the Arambai Tenggol(AT) at G Songgel village, Churachandpur District, on 16th Dec 2023! The case was handed over to the Sangaikot Police Station with evidences but no further action was taken! Then the AT also used Drones to drop bombs in Sugnu area a month or so later! The AT and Manipur state armed forces also used military-issued mortars! Some unexploded mortars were 51mm and sometimes 61mm mortars! The use of military-issued mortars by the state forces and the AT were absolutely diabolical! Who supplied the mortars and conventional aerial bombs? The audio-tape leaked conversation said it all as to who supplied these wartime military hardwares!

The state govt and the police remained silent when the AT used drones for aerial bombardments but they went cockahoop when a bomb exploded at Koutruk and a commercial drone was seen hovering above that area! The Fact Finding Committee should consider the possibility of Unidentified Flying Objects(UFO) when they analyse the photo! Afterall,the Imphal Airport was disturbed by the UFOs few months ago!

Truthfully speaking, what flew around Koutruk on that fateful day was a commercial drone which is used in all parts of India and the outside world for agricultural, surveying and entertainment purposes! It was not a military-grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV) which are used to carry guided-rockets as done in the Middle-East and Ukraine! It was similar to those bombing-drones used by the AT for the past 8 months! If the Drone Investigating Committee thinks this was the first time a drone attack took place, then there had been massive intelligence failures pertaining to drones' warfare in the ongoing Ethnic War! Drone is a popular machine in this ongoing conflict!

The AT Chief Korounganba Khuman posted on his FB page that bomb that killed a lady and AT cadre was a misfired rocket launched by the AT themselves but they should blamed the Kukis for this terrible mistake! The AT PRO Robin Mangang also posted a message about the incident which injured 5 AT members and a woman near Sekmai the next morning! Mr Mangang said the injuries were caused by misfired rocket fired by the AT and that those AT cadres who could not handle rockets should not take part in any battle! He also added that it would bring disgrace to blame the Kukis for all the mistakes made by the AT!

On the morning of 1st Sept 2024,the AT Chief Koriunganba Khuman posted a message on FB:"Fire will rain down today. " Sometime later the Kuki-Zo Volunteers spotted a team of AT who were trying to lay an ambush to massacre Kuki passengers along the Kangpokpi-Lamka Road! That started a Counter-Attack which eventually reached AT-occupied Koutruk village! Scores of Kuki-Zo women were r***d and hacked to death by the AT and Meetei mobs, sometimes, burnt alive but nothing was said! When a Meitei woman died of a shrapnel wound at Koutruk, everybody cried foul! This is not only injustice but also racial discrimination!
