Today I chose rest — not because I’m lazy, but because I’m listening.
After Sunday’s marathon, my body felt heavy. Not sore — but strained. Especially my back. And today was leg day… front rack squats, lunges — all things that would’ve made it worse.
But skipping a workout isn’t easy for someone who loves the process. I had that mental tug-of-war…
“Should I just push through?”
“What if I lose progress?”
But here’s what I’ve learned — healing is also progress.
I still woke up at 5:30. I still did yoga with the sunrise. I still showed up for my body — just in a gentler way.
So if you’re reading this and feeling guilty for slowing down — pause.
Your body isn’t asking for punishment. It’s asking for kindness.
And one missed workout won’t undo your gains — but ignoring what your body is telling you might.
Movement isn’t just about growth. It’s also about trust.
