The core discussion was clear
How do we grow tourism in Uttarakhand without harming our fragile green ecosystem? 🌿

How do we balance economic growth with environmental responsibility?

With Uttarakhand’s GDP per capita already among the highest in India, the focus is no longer just growth, it’s sustainable growth. The insights shared by forest department officials, hotel industry leaders, philanthropists and authors highlighted one truth: real transformation needs equal contribution from citizens, industries and government not just policies on paper.

Listening to powerful voices like Kumar Vishwas, Shefali Shah, and one of my favourite sessions with Anand Ranganathan whose data-backed, practical and democratic perspective stood out made this experience even more impactful.

Uttarakhand is not just a tourist destination.
It is Dev Bhoomi — the Land of the Gods.

And its future depends on how responsibly we act today.

In the last 4 months, I got a chance to work from inside Sahyadri Farms – the largest Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) in Asia – through the On-Farm Incubation Program by Digital Impact Square (a TCS Foundation initiative).

Living and working here has been a life-changing experience for me. I saw up close how 18,000 farmers have come together to build one big successful organisation that is making a real difference in India’s agriculture system. 🌾🇮🇳

More than just farming, I got to understand how modern food processing works, how large-scale supply chains are built, and most importantly, how true leadership can bring real change.

One of the biggest highlights of this journey was meeting Mr. Vilas Shinde Sir, the founder and chairperson of Sahyadri Farms. Talking to him and listening to his story gave me many lessons – not just in work, but also in life. 🙌
