Remembering the legacy of 1912 the 'Bread and Roses' Strike, on the occasion of women's month.
In 1912, Women textile workers in Lawrence went on strike after mill owners cut their wages following a reduction in work hours as per the new labour law which came into force.
The strike ended in a landmark victory and popularized an enduring slogan: “The worker must have bread, but she must have roses, too.”
