General problems of people

18/06/2023

Aravali Hills are believed to be older than Himalayas. These hills strech for about 800 kms from Delhi across the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujrat.Main function of this mountain range was to act as a barrier for hot sandy air coming from Thar desert.Besides acting as a barrier, this range also had a great role in recharging ground water. And it was also a home to variety of wild animals and birds.
This morning TOI ( Delhi edition ) has reported that 20% of this range has already disappeared due to mining and urbanisation. if mining activity and urbanisation continues at present rate , about 1/4 of Aravalis will disappear by 2060.
Unfortunately Delhi NCR will be severely affected by flattening of Aravalis. As it will open doors for Thar desert to extend right till Delhi, resulting in dusty landscape and more polluted environment.
Most of the Aravalis were flattened because of illegal stone mining activities.Presently there are about more than 4000 mining sites in Gurgaon ,Faridabad,Rewari, Alwar ,Ajmer and Jaipur.Of these only about 300 sites have permits rest are all illegal.
Why is Govt not taking any action against these illegal mining sites???
Rajasthan does earn a fat amount of money through these mining activities but Govt should see that lives of people living in Delhi NCR are not adversely affected.
Also man must realise than these mountains were created by nature .Nature doesnot do anything that is not needed.Man has no right to destroy nature just for his personal gains.
I would like all the concerned state Governments to take up this matter seriously and do the needful immediately.
