“SUNSET”
“A very memorable sunset from Herne Bay pier, when I wanted to say "Look!" to my late husband, who so loved sunsets.” (Female, 73 yrs, UK)

Sometimes a photograph becomes a gentle reminder of shared silences or pleasant conversations connected with happy memories. It’s more than a photograph for this participant-it’s her way of holding onto him a little longer and honouring those moments that shaped so much of their life together.
This photograph is part of a project for older adults, “Today Matters – One Click at a Time,” using mobile phone cameras developed by Dr. Sumita Chauhan. Besides self-expression, this project was able to encourage the participants to capture images that held personal significance and at the same time, sparked conversations about past experiences tied to the visuals.

Choosing nature as a theme for photography is not just about framing a beautiful scene; it’s about connecting with the world around us and celebrating the little moments, not letting them go unnoticed. Whether it’s clicked in a backyard or along nearby streets, it brings a joyful spark, creating lasting memories that can be admired even later. This photograph of blooming seasonal flowers is part of a mobile photography project for older adults, “Today Matters – One Click at a Time”, initiated by Dr. Sumita Chauhan.

THE WISDOM OF TREES
“The saying 'Silence is golden' reminds one of trees
In the silence in a wood, some may be led to mystical thought.
Human bad behaviour, in contrast, fails to lead to golden moments.
Therefore let us consider a golden rule - to try to keep silent even when confronted by bad behaviour.
Be like the trees, always silent only bending gently in the breeze.”
(Male, 77 yrs, UK)

This photograph taken from a mobile phone is part of “Today Matters – One Click at a Time”, a photography project for older adults. Initiated by Dr. Sumita Chauhan, it is designed in a way to engage people over 65 years of age to capture special moments in their lives using mobile phone camera and express themselves creatively.
