At a recent summit on Law & AI, Supreme Court Justice Manmohan made one thing clear — technology shouldn’t replace judges, but should remove the burden that keeps them from judging.

AI can handle the clerical grind — reading case files, extracting issues, flagging relevant precedents — so judges focus on what actually demands human wisdom: complex decision-making.

He also revealed:
⚙️ The Supreme Court has already started piloting an AI system to streamline case analysis. A step towards faster, smarter justice delivery.

⚖️ Kerala High Court: Growing Cannabis in Pots Also Counts as Cultivation Under NDPS Act 🌿

The Court ruled that cultivating cannabis plants in pots on a terrace amounts to an offence under Section 8(b) and 20(a) of the NDPS Act, even if not planted directly in soil.

Rejecting the accused’s plea, the Court held that “cultivation” covers all forms of growing cannabis, whether in soil or pots, reaffirming strict liability under the NDPS framework.
