Overcomers

In this teaching, we examine the biblical meaning of the phrase “friend of sinners” and how Jesus truly interacted with those who were living in sin. The phrase was actually an accusation made by religious leaders, not a statement of approval from God.

Jesus met sinners where they were, but He never encouraged their sinful lifestyles. Instead, He revealed God’s love, mercy, and truth, calling them to repentance and transformation.

We will look closely at important biblical examples such as:
• The woman caught in adultery (John 8)
• Zacchaeus the chief tax collector

In both cases, Jesus did not condemn them, but His encounter led them toward repentance and a changed life. This message reminds us that Jesus loves sinners deeply, but He also calls them to turn away from sin and follow God.
